Joelene Griffith - Soprano


Joelene holds a Master of Philosophy, a Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours and a faculty medal from The University of Newcastle Australia where she studied thanks to an Australian Postgraduate Award Scholarship. During her time at the university Joelene sang with the award winning Newcastle University Chamber Choir touring with them to Korea and within regional Australia. For several years during her undergraduate degree she held a choral scholarship at Christ Church Cathedral Newcastle where she sang both in the choir and as a soloist.
Joelene is a committed recitalist and gives regular recitals throughout Sydney and regional New South Wales, is a regular guest soloist with the Scots Kirk Baroque Band and has been a young artist with Pacific Opera.
Joelene’s operatic roles include Cherubino--The Marriage of Figaro (2013, Pacific Opera), Zerlina--Don Giovanni (cover, 2013, Sydney Independent Opera), Alms Sister—Suor Angelica (2013, Harbor City Opera), Belinda--Dido and Aeneas (2014, Armidale English Music Festival), The Queen of the Night—The Magic Flute (2014, Gertrude Opera) Fiordiligi-Cosi fan Tutte (2015, Operantics).

Joelene’s oratorio credits for 2015 include Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana with Willoughby Symphony Orchestra, The Messiah with Penrith Symphony Orchestra and Bach's Christmas Oratorio with the Art of Sound Orchestra.  Joelene's engagements for 2016 include Fiordiligi - Cosi fan Tutte and Amina - La Sonnambula with Operantics and Penrith Symphony Orchestra.
