Australian tenor Ryan Patric O’Donnell is currently completing a Bachelor of Music (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under the tuition of Maree Ryan (Chair of Vocal and Opera Studies). Ryan first completed a Bachelors degree in Media Arts and Production at the University of Technology, Sydney. After working in film, television and video production, he made the decision to pursue classical singing and is now working towards a professional career in opera and art song.
Ryan has performed roles across many genres, including Ralph Rackstraw (HMS Pinafore), John Howard (Keating! The Musical), and The Beast (Beauty and the Beast). He has performed as a soloist in concerts and recitals, most recently completing a concert tour of northern NSW with associate artist David Miller AM, as a soloist with the Sydney Conservatorium New Northern Tour. Recent highlights also include being one of four finalists in the 2015 Elizabeth Todd Lieder Scholarship. Ryan made his operatic debut in the role of Dr Graham in The English Eccentrics for the Sydney Conservatorium Opera School conducted by Stephen Mould. Ryan performed the role of Mr Grey in Gentleman’s Island to be staged by Operantics in 2016.
