Born in the Blue Mountains, Briony is a Sydney-based soprano who has just completed a Bachelor of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium, studying under the vocal tutelage of Dr Rowena Cowley.
In 2012, she undertook work experience at Opera Australia and has since performed in various productions, concerts, and eisteddfods in both the Blue Mountains and Sydney, as well as countless Conservatorium concerts and recitals. In the past three years Briony has performed as a soloist with the Orpheus Strings Chamber Ensemble, a soloist at Northside Opera’s Christmas concert and as a chorister under the baton of Maestro Eduardo Diazmunoz in Leonard Bernstein’s ‘Mass’ for the Conservatorium’s 100th Anniversary in the Sydney Opera House. Later in 2015, Briony was also involved in the Conservatorium’s production of Haydn’s ‘Orfeo’ conducted by Maestro Richard Bonynge.
Previous operatic performances include Rowan Fox’s new opera “Chang’e and the Moon”, as well as being part of Opera New England’s “La Traviata” in early 2016 and their 2017 production of “Susannah” by Carlisle Floyd.
